A return visit to Thoresby Hall. We were pleasantly surprised by the improvements made to the bar in the old house; moving the snooker table and darts board to a dedicated games room had really lifted the feel of the bar. On previous visits we'd enjoyed listening to the jazz band Smooth Duo but they weren't on the programme this week; oh yes they were! Although unadvertised they were playing in the Blue Grill restaurant. Smooth Duo were the highlight of our visit, their lovely relaxing sound was just perfect. Don't keep them a secret Warners, let all the guests know when and where to find them. Plenty of nice places to lounge about and catch up with a book or just do nothing at all and lots of entertainment when you're feeling energetic. A great place, can't wait to go back again.
Four of us stayed for a two night break just after new year. Our Signature rooms were comfortable and clean, as usual, though it was disappointing not to have fresh milk ( was told they were awaiting a delivery , but there was none on the second day) Service in the restaurant was a little slow on the first evening, but better on the second ( I think the presence of an alert manager does make a big difference) The entertainment team ( both for daytime activities and in the evenings) were excellent and I particularly appreciated the kindness shown to my daughter. I was a little annoyed that the £20 that should have been credited to my account( as part of a promotion) was overlooked , but that was rectified after a phone call. We are looking forward to our next visit in the summer
Just returned back from Thoresby Hall, we had a lovely weekend. We went to dinner at 7pm every night and plenty of food available and it was very good, perhaps others are expecting the Ritz. The parking is a bit of a issue. Collecting the key card at the barrier is a excellent idea, safes queuing at reception. You then can either take your suitcases yourself or go to the turning circle and let the porters take them, which we were told at the barrier. . We will be returning next year, which will be our 8th visit.
