Romantics will be drawn to our Historic rooms, where we’ve recreated a golden age of decadence. It’s all about the grand gesture here. Or upgrade to a Historic suite where you can look forward to a feature bed as well as a lounge area and sofa and period features like original fireplaces and wooden beams. But the devil's in the detail as well. The décor is refined and top-end extras come courtesy of The Signature Experience.
Another great Motown weekend at Thoresby Hall, received lovely warm welcome from Lauren when checking in from the entrance a great idea no queing in reception, stayed in a lovely signature room on the ground floor , the kingsize bed was very comfy and we both slept very well indeed.
We dined in the small Sherwood restaurant much quieter than the larger dining room, the food we found to be very good tasty and hot, a good selection on the salad bar, but can we have the red cabbage back on the salad bar the best I've tasted. Our waitress Lucy was very efficient and polite.
The entertainment Friday night Jackson Soul was rather noisy so we retired to the bar returning later for the disco with DJ Keith Gunton. Saturday night the one and only Jimmy James and The Vagabonds great showman with a great band. Then Sunday night The Lorraine Crosby Motown show what a great show very energetic both singing and dancing also another great band too.
The lounge singer was once again in the main concert room on each evening and seemed to go on longer than his allotted time which meant the other acts were late too, infact Sunday night The last spot for DJ Keith did not commence until after midnight. I do hope that the lounge singer can be returned to the lounge area so that we have a choice singer or disco.
Long weekend - all inclusive weekend was amazing. Food was fantastic. Staff we friendly and helpful from reception staff to maintence man to waitress. We enjoyed the entertainment with a varied choice. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for turkey and tinsel 2019.
First time visitor to Thorsbury Hall, had an excellent experience, good accommodation in Signature room, all staff efficient and friendly.Entertainment and leisure facilities first class.Cannot fault this location, plenty of walks and a historic house to explore.Bit confusing at first exploring various walkways and signage to find your room, bars, lounges etc but like a cruise ship you soon find your bearings and enjoy the ambiance of the main hall and house with several areas to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.Enjoyed the check in at the entrance barrier, keys given for room so no messing about in reception, very efficient. If there is a criticism it would be the parking experience to find a space, maybe Warners could have car parks signed ie A B C etc and reserve spaces for residents and other spaces for day guests visiting leisure spa.
This however would not stop me from visiting again and can recommend to family/friends for a relaxing experience. Warner management should be proud of their staff ,who are first class and obviously enjoy their work to their benefit.
